Goodbyeee

Hello

I don't know if anybody actually read my previous post from back in April, if you havn't, i've now deleted it and you didn't miss much, it was a simple paragraph on why i like cricket. Pretty boring huh.

I guess I should offer my analysis on the world today though my eyes or something. Well I write this post on rememberance day, 11th november, even though I have no known ties to those who gave their lives in the Great War, I always make a point of giving a small portion of my day every year to remember, like we all do with our poppies, those who gave their lives. It doesn't seem like much really, but I like to make the point of it because as I have grown older, I have noticed that many of my peers don't share my respect for the older generations. As we've seen recently in Sheffield, drunk or not, a fellow student urinated on the war memorial. I share the mentality of the the outraged press, even though I hate to admit it.

There is one thing that always makes me stop and think about the Great War, and it is the final 5 minutes of the final episode of Blackadder goes Fourth. It is, in my humble student opinion, one of the most moving pieces of film I have ever seen. The fact that the name of the episode ties in with the title of this blog entry is no coincidence.

I encourage you to watch it here

In rememberance of those who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-18
