Why hello again Blogosphere, it has been a while since my last post, which I can only apologise for. The delay is simply due to a mixture of: revision taking too much time, Christmas and me being lazy, in equal measures.
A fair few things have occured since my last post, wll i'd hope so seeing that it's been just under a month. Firstly, I got my essay and exam over and done with the period before Christmas. I am still divided whether I prefer exams before Christmas or after but hey.
Then Christmas happened. I always find myself looking forward to it too much and getting to hyped up, and it becomes a let down.
Then New Years. Which for the first time in 3 years I didn't work. WOO! that was a bit of a let down seeing that Fleet's party wasn't as big as previous years have been... DAMNIT!
That's pretty much it, besides the snow. i have built and destroyed 3 snowmen in the period we've had snow, and now i'm currently halfway through contructing an igloo out of the remains of Reg, the biggest snowman.

She Drove Me To Daytime TV
Hello again,
I'm trying to update this more and more regularly and as I said it's becoming increasingly harder to find things to talk about, here it goes.
I am a huge CSI fan, some may say obsessed, I have series 1 - 8a on DVD and I'm waiting for Xmas money to finish off series 8. I also have the first 2 series of CSI Miami and a couple of computer games. truth be told, forensic science is my dream career path, however, the amount of jobs available once you have your degree is extremely limited. It may seem like I'm settling for second best, but anyway i want to be in the police force in some force, be it at PC level or suited CID, that's where I want to be.
However, I think that I am one of the most forward thinking people I know, I have covered my career options with another path going a completely different direction. I as you may know, i can't remembered how much I've said about it, I am a cricket coach, I plan to go as far as I can level wise until I find I'm not good enough. However, I think I'm good enough to go as far as I can in whatever career path I end up taking.
Right this has been a small entry, but as I said, I can't write novels every time.
Video time...It makes me smile every time.
Screw you....(but in the nice way :D)

The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most
Good afternoon blogosphere. I am really starting to get into this lark, I'm going to try and get even more regular. The problem is having stuff to talk about. At the moment I'm in my room at uni, not doing much in between revision sessions wanting time to speed up so I can get these 2 exams out of the way. I could complain all day about the university not listening to what we said in our surveys regarding the exams but hey, why would you want to read that?
Today is a Monday, I've never had a problem with Mondays it's Tuesdays i could never get the hang of. It's a relatively OK day for Preston in the winter, however, I haven't ventured outside yet. All my Christmas shopping has been done already, that's right I'm a guy who actually gets it done early, shock horror. The past few Christmases I've been working, which frankly sucked, I am not even going to bother looking until the new year for a job because i have not had any decent fun before 12 on new years eve either because of my work commitments. So yeah, hopefully a good Christmas/New Year period.
There is one huge thing i am looking forward to when we get holidays. The fact i can go home and that the majority of my friends will be back in town, and that we can muck about playing football until we pass out. I need to play football because I've put on quite a bit of uni weight.
Well in other ways I'm on edge because i have like just over a month until I'm back into club cricket. Don't get me wrong, I love netting with the guys from uni, but I'm just not good enough in comparison to those guys. Don't get me wrong, netting with those guys has improved my game massively, especially the mental aspects of bowling and my variation but i can't hit the damn ball when i'm batting,n ot even in the slower lanes.
For uniersity, I have consistantly said that I'm a bowler and fielder, which is evident, when I go back home however, expecially now I'm going to be playing more second team cricket I can focus on my batting as well. I know that the standard I play back home is nowhere near the standard the majority of the guys from uni play in, so I don't disillusion myself thinking I could play that standard, I couldn't I know this because the amount of mistakes I make is a hell of a lot more than I can afford to make if I played that standard. This looks like I'm beating myself up, hwoever, this is a reality check for people to read this.
Wehn the season starts back home in April, I will be one of the happiest people alive. I live for the sport, so much so that I'm a coach, a district assistant coach, a youth team manager, i will be undergoing another coaching course to upgrade my coaching status and now i'm joint second team vice captain. I remember somebody saying at the club, that I officially have 12 different titles, which i think is impressive.
I have the next 10 songs for the playlist right here.
31. Duckworth Lewis Method - Jiggery Pokery
32. Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
33. Jack's Mannequin - The Mixed Tape
34. 10CC - Dreadlock Holiday
35. Tim Minchin - Not Perfect
36. Newton Faulkner - Dream Catch Me
37. Paolo Nutini - Autumn
38. Jack Johnson - Banana Pancakes
39. Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead Or Alive
40. Dashboard Confessional - Hands Down
I leave you with the obligatory video.

Brick by Boring Brick
Hello good people.
This is my first post for December, seeing that it's just gone the second I should hope so too.So I have some news, some good, some bad. I'm an optimist and I'd prefer to end on the lighter note. My neighbour, Betty Carr, recently died. She was the nicest old lady I've ever met, and I've known her all my life so it was a big shock to get the text message of my mum early today.Rest in Peace Betty.
In better news, I have 3 good things to tell you.
1. I finished my second essay of the semester finally so i only do some revision now.
2. I have finished the next ten songs for my playlist bringing the toal to date to 30, well i have 31 but you'll have to wait until i get to 40 to find out the next song.
3.On Monday I appointed the second team co-vice captain at my cricket club back home. This may sound a little odd, so i'll give you a small brief. Monday was the AGM for Newburgh Cricket Club, each year you have to nominate captains, vice captains and officers in the club for the coming year. I nominated my self to stand for vice captain of the second team, so did my team mate Dave Cookson. All of the other positions at the club were unopposed so just my luck for another person to go for the role I wanted. In all truth me and dave get on really well so we agreed to share the vice captaincy which made the meeting a lot quicker. It still managed to last 3 hours though.
So on to numbers 21 through 30 of my playlist.
21. Faith No More - Epic
22. Blondie - One Way Or Another
23. My Chemical Romance - I'm Not OK(I Promise)
24. Funeral For A Friend - Walk Away
25. Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven
26. Bullet For My Valentine - Hearts Burst Into Fire
27. The Clash - London Calling
28. Elbow - Grounds For Divorce
29. Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills
30. White Lies - Farewell To The Fairground
The you have it.Sneak peek.

Rise From Your Grave
Hello good people.
It's been a week or so since I last posted. I'm going to try and keep this one as brief as possible because I need to get up nice and early in the morning to go and do this essay that's due on Wednesday. I guess this post is basically a review of the Dragonforce gig I went to on Saturday night.
I may as well give each band a little intro and review them then I guess. I was a little apprehensive about the gig at first, not being a huge metal fan in the beginning, and the band originally on the bill, All That Remains i was quite looking forward to but they were replaced earlier in the tour or whatever with a Swedish Band called Sabaton... I was a little disheartened. So on to the reviewing.
Glamour Of The Kill - Well in all fairness to the guys, they didn't have much audience to work with. Not many people bothered to turn up for the early support acts. Saying that though, I was very impressed with what they played. I don't really know who to compare them with, i guess they're a little like Bullet For My Valentine, but Sam says they're like Avenged Sevenfold. They're now one of my favourite bands lol, i plan on seeing them in Liverpool next year. Along side that, they're really sound guys, I spoke to them at the end on the way out and they're the soundest band I've met. Shame they're from York though.
DOWNLOAD/SPOTIFY - A Hope In Hell, Rise From Your Grave,In Search of Salvation
Sylosis - Me and Joe struggled to get their name right all night, Joe even called them synopsis before lol. They came on with a pretty good stage presence. Again is struggle with music comparisons, I don't seem to be able to hear comparing sections of songs etc. I likened the singers style to Atreyu in a way, plus he looked a little like Alex Varkatzas. I guess you could link it in a little with Bring Me The Horizon. They were really good too, plus again really great guys had a quick chat with guitarist, Josh or Bailey, I don't know which one, again sound guy will try to catch another of their shows.
DOWNLOAD/SPOTIFY - Reflections Through Fire, After Lifeless Years, Oath Of Silence
Sabaton - The band I had no idea about. All I'd hear was through my walls from Sam's room over the past week or so, and the lyrics he shouted at me. I wasn't really looking forward to it. However, I have never seen a band with such stage presence, every single one of the band came out beaming, they had the happiest bassist ever. plus the guys bass was painted with snow camouflage, awesome. When the Singer came out... the most charasmatic lead singer ever. In fairness i'm not their biggest fan it's just not my scene but how they played I could do nothing but bow down to them.
Spoke to both guitarist on the way out and they were amazed how well it went, you could see it on their faces when they were playing though. Comparisons... ask Sam.
DOWNLOAD/SPOTIFY - Ghost Division, Cliffs Of Gallipoli, Panzerkampf
Dragonforce - Everyone I'd met who'd seen Dragonforce live said they were shit. Give them their due, they impressed me a lot. The now legendary skills of Herman Li i have witnessed first hand, i must say his guitar must taste good, he licked it like 7 times. They are mental on stage, I don't really know many dragonforce songs, I know Fire and Flames and Heroes Of Our Time, so i was stuck on the rest but they were still brilliant. We managed to get all of their autographs in The Ship afterwards all except ZP, the lead singer but hey, again they were really nice guys, and I shared a drink with them.
DOWNLOAD/SPOTIFY - Through Fire And Flames, Heroes Of Our Time, Valley Of The Damned.
That was supposed to be short but it turned into a full on article.
Rise from you grave, and take my hand.

Decode
Well I guess this blog is to complain this time, I have complained a little in prior blogs but this is a full out moan.
Firstly, I have had it with people going on about Twilight. It looks awful, I haven't seen either movie, some may say that I haven't given it a fair chance because of this. The thing that annoys me the most about the buzz about this set of films is the amount of girls who go weak at the knees for Bobby P (yeah I called him Bobby P cos he's a tool and deserves a tool's name) who has the face like somebody who has just remembered he left the gas on then was hit in the face by Chuck Norris' heel. That may be a little extreme, I like exaggerating.
Secondly, I am fuming regarding the fact that by the looks of it that Ireland aren't going to get a replay for their World Cup Qualifying Play-Off with France. Firstly, I now understand what my fellow Englishmen/women (to be PC) felt like back when Maradona struck back in '86. I think it's an outrage that FIFA aren't even looking to try to bend the rules for future incidences, however, I'm not surprised the French have denied the Irish a replay. I find it ironic that nobody has forgiven France for folding like a pack of cards back in WW2. However, as Groundskeeper Willie put it, the "cheese eating surrender monkeys" yet again have waltzed towards the World Cup.
I would suggest that boycotted all Gilette products as Thierry Henry is endorced by them, but i don't shave anyway lol.
On a lighter note, and awy from my rant I shall reveal the first 10 songs to make it onto my playlist:
1. Journey - Don't Stop Believing
2. Hoobastank - The Reason
3. Melee - Built to Last
4. Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning
5. Audioslave - Show Me How To Live
6. No Doubt - Don't Speak
7. Bob Dylan - The Times Are A Changin'
8. Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
9. Radiohead - Creep
10. Rocky + Balls - I Heart You Online
I presume many of you havn't heard the last song, and as per usual i shall embed a video for your pleasure. I suggest you have a look at their stuff, it's pretty damn good.
But if you go around carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you aint gonna make it with anyone anyhow. Alright?
